Elizabethtown, KY

Well we left work yesterday at around 2 and made it to Elizabethtown, KY which is about halfway..Addison got fussy a few times but not to bad..today might be a little longer one

Well it's almost one week until Christmas. Addison had her first picture with Santa yesterday. I thought we were going to be in and out of there because it was the middle of a weekday, but when I got there it was crazy...the county had cancelled school because of all the black ice we had the night before on the roads...so I waited in line almost 2 hours.

Still not done with Christmas shopping yet and now only 2 weeks away from going back to work on Jan 3. It has been wonderful that I could stay home with Addison for 3 months.

Addison will be going to the Primrose School of Bentwater, preschool, which is next door to my office. So while it will be hard to go back to work and drop her off, she is only one building away and I can go over there anytime to get a "fix".

This weekend we will be getting ready for the drive to Chicago on Thurs to see Charles' family. We are looking forward to seeing everyone over the holidays, especially his sister Beth who we haven't seen since last Nov.

2 month visit

On Tuesday Addison had her 2 month doctor's visit. Everything checked out fine and she just got a couple immunization shots. She officially weighed 10 pds 4 oz. Here is a picture of our Christmas tree with a couple of the ornaments Addison has received from family for her first Christmas...

Falcons Game

Getting ready to watch the Atlanta Falcons game, with Addison sleeping last night from 10 to 6 we are ready to go...All of the Pleiss family are Falcon's fans..

Thanksgiving

We had a great first Thanksgiving with Addie with my family up at our family cabin in Elliay.
Aunt Gina, Grandmama Connie and cousin Kailey fought over turns to feed and hold Addison. We had a nice relaxing couple of days full of 70 degree weather the first couple of days and then 30 degree weather. Of course, we ate too much good food.
Then we got back home we went out and got our Christmas tree and set all the decorations up.

Crib update and Thanksgiving

The last week in terms of Addison sleeping in her crib has been great..She has been going to bed around 10 and waking up around 3:30 and then again at around 7. Then on Tuesday night she slept from 10 pm to 5:30 which allowed both Dodie and I to have a somewhat good night sleep..You can tell Dodie is waking up more refreshed and ready to face the day..As for Thanksgiving Dodie and I are going up to her mom's cabin in Ellijay..Actually Dodie is up there already with her mom, sister and her family and them tomorrow morning I am heading up there with Willow. Should be nice break to get away and enjoy being up in the mountains..

Addison first night in her crib

Tonight we are letting Addison sleep for the first time in her own room and crib..lately she has been sleeping for around 5 hours at a time..i am not sure how much sleep Dodie will get guess we will find out in the morning..

Addison 1 month doctor visit

Addison visited the doctor's office for her 1 month visit, technically a couple days later than her real 1 month birth day. She weighed in at 9 pds 1 oz which is in the 25-50 percentile and she was 22 inches which 50-75 percentile..

Mom's visit

It was great to have my mom in town to visit Addison and also get out and see the Georgia Aquarium...On Sunday she watched her and Dodie and I went to the Falcons football game for our 1st anniversary. Then on Monday all three of us went to the Aquarium, this is the first time I have been..It was a beautiful place and even though Addison couldn't recognize most things it brought out the wonder and amazement in the rest of us big kids.

Mom's coming in

My mom is coming in today from Chicago and staying till next Tuesday..We just have a few things planned such as going to the Georgia Aquarium on Monday, but other than that just try to rest and relax..Hopefully my mom can get some sleep at night because our spare bedroom is upstairs and when Addison is hungry she lets out a pretty loud cry..

This week

This week has been a busy one.


Last Friday, Addison got a visit from her cousin Kailey and her boyfriend, home from college.

Saturday a close friend of mine, Jessica got married to the wonderful Kevin and it was a beautiful celebration. It was also Addison's first trip over to Grandmama Connie's house, who she spent the day with while we were at the wedding.

Tuesday was Connie's birthday and Thursday Addison and I met her out for lunch.

This weekend we are going to finally carve our pumpkin, hand out candy to our 3 or 4 trick or treaters and getting ready for Charles's mom, Kathi, who is coming to visit on Thursday.

Last little sleep

Dodie brought Addison downstairs so she could get a little more sleep..Addison was a little fussy in her carrier so I laid her on top of me..

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we took a drive around Northeast Georgia and one of the stops we made was at a pumpkin patch..By the time we got home Dodie and I were a little tired but Addison still had plenty of stamia..

Glad it is the Week-end

It has been a somewhat long first week both working and for Addison..We keep increasing the amount we are feeding Addison and hopefully she will will start gaining some weight because she is currently not increasing or decreasing in weight which is a little bit of a concern..It is amazing how times she sneezes and has the hiccups during the day which we found out was perfectly normal..I think this week-end we are going to go for a drive to both see the amazing fall colors and get Dodie out of the house for a while..

Well we had a nice weekend- both of us got to catch up on some missing sleep. And Addison had several visitors- Joyce, Marriett, Karri and her daughter Natalie dropped by yesterday morning and brought some food and then she met Aunt Gina, Uncle Danny and cousins Allie and Carson.

Here are some more pics..Addison is starting to sleep a little more during the night but she mostly sleeps during the day. Dodie's mom, Connie, has been over the last couple of days which has been a great help. Today Dodie's sister, Gina, her husband, Dan, and there kids are coming up from Savannah to visit Addison for the first time. Should be a good day and hopefully a lot of action so she can sleep more during the night because last night it was my time to get some sleep and tonight it is Dodie's.

Addison First Footprints

First night

First night for Addison, Dodie, and Charles was somewhat long. I ended up staying at the hospital to offer what little help I could. Mostly it was Dodie trying to breastfeed every couple hours and getting checked up on. It was nice a couple times the nurse took Addison to the nursey for a couple hours so we got a little sleep then..

She arrived October 4 at 4:16 pm.
She weighed 7 pds 2 oz.
Both baby and mommy are doing good.

Last Day

Yes I guess nesting exists....
Hours before I go into hospital- I have washed several loads of clothes, cleaned the oven, kitchen, cabinets and floor. Whew, guess having that baby will be a breeze compared to all that LOL

Just a little bit left

For all of you that do not know Dodie is being admitted to the hospital on Sunday, 10/3, and then being induced on Monday morning..We thought this week we might be able to catch up on our soon to be lost sleep but that is not happening..With a lot on each of our minds we go to bed at a reasonable time but then wake up at night and have a hard time going back to bed..

Pictures of the Baby's room

We finally put some stuff together, hanged some pictures, and organized a little bit and the baby's room is almost ready to go. All we are looking for now is a round brown rug for the center..A big thanks to Dodie's mom, Connie, for making the curtains as seen below and coming over one day last week to hang them.

Little more than one more week to go..

Last night Dodie and I got a tour of Northside Hospital, the hospital we plan to have our girl..The person giving the tour said they average between 45 and 60 babies a day..This put Dodie and I at comfort since anything out of the ordinary, they have probably already experienced...Sunday night must have been a slower night because we didn't see many expected moms coming in and just one baby boy in the viewing area..It looks like a great hospital and look forward to being there in around 3 more weeks..

Cleaning out Kitchen Cabinets

This past week-end we were cleaning out the kitchen cabinets getting ready for the baby and unfortunately we had to put some of Dodie's wine glasses in other locations..
